Georg Kröll (born May 3, 1934 in Linz am Rhein) is a German composer.
Georg Kröll was born in Linz on the Rhine in 1934. He studied piano with Else Schmitz-Gohr and composition with Frank Martin and Bernd Alois Zimmermann at the Cologne Music Academy. On July 6, 1962 he took part in the Bonn Bühne für sinnliche Wahrnehmung – KONZIL with his work Songs based on texts by Paul Pörtner, Helmut Heissenbüttel and Karl Krolow for soprano guitar-piano and Sonata for alto flute. Between 1960 and 1964 he was times a participant in the Darmstadt Summer Course for New Music and the International Music Weeks of the Gaudeamus Foundationin Bilthoven. During this time he began his piano career as an interpreter of new music, as a chamber musician, and as an accompanist.
In 1962 he received the sponsorship award from the city of Cologne and was a scholarship holder at the Villa Massimo in Rome in 1969/70. He has lived in Cologne since 1970 , where he was a member of the Composers' Association Group 8 Cologne from 1969 to 1972 . From 1964 to 1997 he taught composition and music theory at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne.
