"gaop" is the stage name of a performer, multi-instrumentalist, and fusion experimentalist. The avant-garde nature of gaop's early work was very confusing and sometimes offensive to mainstream and unprepared audiences, sometimes resulting in the fleeting of crowds from early shows in complaints of noise, nauseating volumes and frequencies. gaop's discography currently includes over 60 items, marking him as prolific or perhaps hyperactive in regards of recording. Active since the early 2000s, with numerous releases in noise sub-genres, dark ambient, drone, IDM, glitch, industrial, electronica, free jazz, avant garde, experimental metal, electro-acoustic, etc. Numerous of gaop's releases are collaborations, many with the likes of Haggari Nakashe, NishMa, ohrr, and Sabixatzil.
