Ferdinando Galimberti also Gallimberto or Galinberti (born around 1700 in Milan; died around 1751) was an Italian composer, violinist and music teacher. The exact dates of birth of Ferdinando Galimberti are unknown, the place of birth is given in sources with Milan . There is evidence of his musical activity in the period between 1725 and 1751. Between 1740 and 1742 he was violin teacher of the Swiss composer Franz Joseph Leonti Meyer von Schauensee in Milan . He was an esteemed composer of the Scuola Sinfonica Milanese and belonged to a circle of composers around Giovanni Battista Sammartini , who was one of the main representatives of the Italian early classical periodwas in the first half of the 18th century and had a formative influence on the further development of the classical symphony and many young composers from other European countries, including Christoph Willibald Gluck , Christian Cannabich and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
