Dorian Minor was never truly formed in a traditional sense, in which a group of friends unite, play some tunes, and all is well.Rather, Dorian Minor was a slow birth.Since 2001, the four future members of Dorian Minor flew through countless groups to pursue their zealous ambitions, though none sufficed.In 2005, the quartet met each other when Sam and Billy wanted Pat and Robbie to be replacement guitarists for their former band, Departure of Alex.Soon after its demise, Dorian Minor took flight. They currently perform an earlier style of pop and rock, blended with jazz and country.The songs strongly rely on raw, catchy, and dynamic melodies, supported by either soothing or vigorous backgrounds.Sam Lee’s lyrics tickle the surface of sensitive subjects, and then dive in to cleverly analyze nostalgic and graphic experiences, with succinct, and at times quirky, metaphors.
