Diamond Joe Siddons began his musical career in 1968 behind a drum kit in Dallas. Born in San Antonio in 1950, Joe soon traded in his sticks for a Fender Duo Sonic and headed to the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. There, he embarked on a six string journey that has spanned over nearly five decades. Since the early seventies, Diamond Joe Siddons has been blessed to work and play with some of the blues circuits most talented and influential artists. From his time with The Texas Shieks, which featured legendary drummer, "Uncle" John Turner (Johnny Winter) and the amazing Keith Fergueson (Thunderbirds), to his tenure with the gifted, Lisa Lowell (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Rolling Stones) and the revolutionary Wayne Kramer (MC5), Diamond Joe Siddons has remained a hard working portrait of the American bluesman. While remaining commited to the reverence of true blues pioneers (and most notable influences) BB King, Albert King and Johnny Winter, DJS has always welcomed progressive change in music, citing Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs) and Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) as current artists he personally enjoys. From the renowned stages of classic venues such as Antone's and the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, to the legendary stages of New York City's own Lonestar Cafe, CBGB's and BB King's, Diamond Joe has spent over forty years pounding his way across dirt roads and leaping over skyscrapers to deliver his cutting edge, snarly sound to live music fans all across the country. Whether it was supporting the likes of the innovative Doug Sahm, rocking out with Southern legend Kenny Acosta, or trading licks with the iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan back in Austin, or fronting projects with New York City stalwarts, veteran harper, Felix Cabrera (Jimmy Vovino) and drummer extraordinaire George Morales (Lightning Hopkins, Big Mama Thornton), there were no shortage of experiences for this most proficient old soldier. The great Diamond Joe Siddons currently resides in New York City and is working on his upcoming fourth release.
