"Gather ye, daemonic acolytes, and be entranced by this impure piece of worship towards the horned one.
This Finnish 4-piece returns for a second demo offering, this time joined by Heidi Kettunen (Ride for Revenge, Regere Sinister, Horse Latitudes) on bulldozing bass frequencies and witching murmurs not unlike the madness of Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance, as well as blessed by the recording techniques of the notorious Hail Conjurer.
Returning three years after their debut, "Depths of Dementia", and with a very noticeable improvement in both production and songwriting abilities, Depravement delivers once again a vile piece of pure, ancient Black/Death atavism, devoid of any pretentious revisionisms and weak bastardizations.
Here, we are (dis)graced by 28 destructive minutes of true evil and devotion to the 90's. Harnessing the malign energies and blasphemic disgust of their compatriot masters of this craft, particularly early Beherit, Depravement delivers an offering of blood and rot, oscillating between the warlike mid-paced primitive battering of the lamb, brimming with headbanging energy and macabre hypnosis, always carried by the excellent bashing of the drums; and the grinding maelstrom of blasts, gut-wrenching tremolo picked guitars and eviscerating vocals, all tempo variations being done with the most effect, pure mastery and tradition and the right buildups for the devastation to come.
The demo closes in a slight different style, in old primitive Black/Doom fashion, certaily nourishing on the crawling dirges of legends in Barathrum or early Samael." Read more on Last.fm.
