Damn Dirty Apes is a band based in Penang, Malaysia. They have self-released an EP "Valve State Dreams" in 2002 and were hailed as “Malaysia’s Mogwai” who too often delved in the soft/loud/soft formula. This also sent countless kids onto the stage who shaped the post-rock scene in Malaysia today. The band member started with Ian Cheah on on bass and piano, Pedram Djavadkhani on guitar, piano and vocals, Sina Djavadkhani on drums, vocals and sampler, Paul Metcaffe on guitar and vocals A full length album "Ape Kill Ape" was released in 2004 with a new drummer Amit Arvind after the band was announced hiatus.
