Now defunct, Dabang Band formed in late 2001 when Myoung Jae Yi and Thai Iv, respectively Australian and American expatriates living in Jeonbuk province, South Korea, formed a duo (Yi singing and playing guitar, and Iv playing drums). In early 2002, they added Sung Hwan Jung on bass, and finally Gord Sellar on saxophone. They released two full albums and an EP: "Pig Over Seoul" (2002), "Product" (2003), and "The Last One" (2005). (The final recording was made in trio, sans saxophone, as Sellar left the band in late 2004.) While they were primarily a Jeonbuk Province band, based in Iksan and Jeonju cities, over time they came to play more often in Seoul, especially in several clubs in the Hong Ik Dae area. The final gigs of the band were performed in the fall of 2005, just prior to Iv's return to America. Read more on Last.fm.
