Culture Beat is a German Eurodance project founded in 1989 by producer Torsten Fenslau. The group has undergone several lineup changes since its formation, achieving its greatest success with British singer Tania Evans and American rapper Jay Supreme as front members. In 1993, the single "Mr. Vain" became an international hit, reaching number one in eleven European countries. Culture Beat has reported worldwide sales exceeding ten million records.
