Colour of Fire is an alternative rock band based in York, England, formed in late 2001 by co-songwriters Owen Richards and Stuart Jones. They recruited Thom Craigen on bass and Matt Lunn on drums, and took the band’s name from a Boards Of Canada song. The band signed to Riverman Records, after Steve Lamaca played “Decisions, Decisions" on BBC Radio One. They performed live sessions for Radio One's Rock Show and were selected as "Single of the Week" on Zane Lowe's XFM show. Their second single, " Cut It," received regular rotation on MTV2. They toured the UK and Europe extensively, supporting Placebo, The Libertines, The Bronx, The Kills, The Icarus Line, Silverchair and Sparta, among others. The band also toured Japan, supporting Korn in Osaka and Tokyo at SonicMania. In summer 2003, Colour of Fire recorded their debut album with Steve Osbourne at Rockfield and Real World Studios. 'Pearl Necklace' was released in 2004 by Riverman in the UK, PIAS in Europe and King Records in Japan. They supported Placebo on a European tour in 2004, including consecutive nights at London's Brixton Academy. In 2005, the band was burned out and disbanded to explore other projects. Owen formed Grammatics, Stuart moved to Berlin and formed Die Zerstörten, and Matt Lunn joined Placebo on drums. In 2022, Colour of Fire reunited and began working in new material. After an almost two-decade hiatus, they played reunion shows in the UK in late 2023 and early 2024. Their long-awaited second album, 'All The Wolves I Have Known', is due for release in summer 2026, preceded by the title track as a lead single in January 2026 and supported by a UK tour. Read more on Last.fm.
