Chico and the Man is the name of the group formed by QN5's Tonedeff and DJ Kno of Cunninlynguists. Their debut, currently self-titled, album has been the subject of numerous delays. Although both artists rap and produce, on the Chico and the Man LP Tonedeff will be the sole rapper with DJ Kno taking production duties. The first Chico and the Man track, "No Hope", surfaced in 2004 on the QN5 annual mixtape, Asterisk 3. A second track "My Lady" was the final track on Asterisk 4, released in 2007. These are currently the only two Chico and the Man tracks available to the public. The album finally seems to be nearing completion and is likely, although not certain to be released in 2009. There is no word as to the theme of this project, but QN5 has recently kicked off a promotional campaign entitled "WORK FOR IT" that points to the group's Twitter.com/chicoandtheman page, which features cryptic clues and snippets of poetry.
