Ceri Rhys Matthews (born 1960) is a Welsh traditional musician, record producer, and teacher. A co-founder of Fernhill, he plays music with Burum and in a duo with Christine Cooper, of Tenby, as Ceri Rhys Matthews & Christine Cooper. Born and bred in the Welsh-speaking village of Treboeth, now a suburb of Swansea, Matthews plays flute and pipes. He also sings and plays guitar. He has recorded two albums of Bagpipe music; Pibau, with Jonathon Shorland, and Pibddawns, a solo record. He recorded a CD of mainly solo flute music called yscolan, which also features spoken word and poetry elements from Beverley Evans, and a duet with Christine Cooper. He has recorded five CDs with Fernhill. In 2009, Matthews produced "Blodeugerdd: Song of the Flowers" - An Anthology of Welsh Music and Song for Smithsonian Folkways which came first in the 2009 Independent Music Awards for Best World Traditional Album. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Ceri+Rhys+Matthews">Read more on Last.fm</a>.
