Before pursuing a professional music career, Bonomo studied cinema and television at Istanbul Bilgi University, an education that later influenced his artistic approach, lyrical storytelling, and visual style.
He began his career in media by working as a radio host and television presenter, notably gaining attention through music-focused programs that helped establish his public presence. Bonomo entered the Turkish music scene with his debut album Meczup in 2010, which received critical acclaim for its unique blend of alternative pop, rock, folk, and narrative-driven lyrics. His second album, Aşk ve Gurur (2011), further expanded his popularity and showcased his evolving musical identity.
In 2012, Can Bonomo represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku with the song “Love Me Back,” achieving seventh place in the final. The performance significantly increased his international recognition and marked a turning point in his career.
