Broken Halo started humbly, in the bedrooms and basements of its founders, vocalist Doug McArthur, guitarist Jared Daniels and drummer Kyle Patterson. What began as a songwriting project quickly grew legs and the band has since become a staple in the live music scene in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Formed in 2002, Broken Halo is one of the most popular rock acts in Winnipeg, and fans aren’t the only ones taking notice. On the strength of their 6-song debut EP, Broken Halo snagged a spot at Canada’s largest outdoor music festival, Stage 13, in Camrose, AB - playing alongside acts like Sum 41, Evanescence, ZZ Top, Pilate, The Trews, The Tea Party, Hawksley Workman and many more. The band’s signature track “Gagged and Bound” currently sits at #5 on the Hard Rock charts at popular international independent music website www.garageband.com. Their success at GarageBand has garnered interest from major and independent labels around the world. After years of gigging around the city and countless hours of writing and recording, Broken Halo triumphantly released their debut LP in the summer of 2007. The 12-song disc marked the culmination of 5 years of hard work as a band and nearly 3 years in and out of the studio.
