Borderlands was formed in 2012 by guitarists Rui Terruta & Hugo Capelo and drummer Cristovão "Kiki" Monteiro, classmates from EPI School. Nuno Silva (schoolmate) joined the band as vocals when the band was first recording their self-made EP, and Yuri José joined the band shortly after. They released their Debut EP in November 2012, called "Awaken Dreamers", available for download (Free) on their facebook page. The band is a joint venture between members of underground bands, such as “From Royal Hill”, “Death Circus” , “Came from Avalon” and "Sunrise We Fall" 2. Borderlands was an American folk band formed by Kurt Griesemer around 2007, with traces of its conception dating back to 2002. The band combines genres such as Rockabilly, Folk, Pop, Country, Americana, Rock and "a bit o' Irish" in Kurts own words. Borderland's first and last album, Shout It Out Loud, was released in 2010 to much local acclaim. Following the release of the album, the band would do a few promotional shows before disbanding sometime in the early 2010s. Kurt would take many elements from Borderlands and later form the band The Tooles in 2013, playing guitar (and occasionally drums) for the band to this day.
