A temporary orchestra which only rehearses and plays at the annual Bayreuth Festival, i.e. exclusively performing the operas of Richard Wagner there being led by famous conductors. The members come from well-known orchestras on a voluntary basis, mainly from Germany, e.g. from Radio Symphony Orchestras or from other opera houses.
