Astryl was formed in 2011 by three brothers; Ben, Adam and Sam Hudson. Having played music together for the laugh from a young age, they took a more serious step forward in early 2011 and began playing to the public in bars and venues around Cork, particularly in Bourbon St Bar but also including guest spots at the Pavilion, Mr. Bradley's, Crane Lane Theatre and the CAT Club. The three brothers have been listening to music all their lives with many influences from listening to their parent's ancient records. This meant that they grew up with artists such as Van the Man, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Dylan and Neil Young. These influences can be found in their music today along with other inspirational performers such as Mick Flannery, U2. Kings of Leon and Scullion. It is hard to put a finger on their genre but they have settled on somewhere in between Indie and Folk.
