Angyl, also known as Angyl Ferreira and pigeonnxo, is a pop singer-songwriter, rapper, producer and visual artist from Ireland. Ever since Angyl was young, growing up in Ireland at the start of the 2010s amongst the pink, glittery pop music of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Kesha and more, they had a vision for the future of pop music – and that vision was themselves. It was early 2013 when Angyl’s dad gave them a Spotify account and from that moment onwards they knew they were destined for a popstar life. After years of studying music videos, listening to their bootleg PRISM (Katy Perry) CD every night before bed, praying to whatever god was out there that they could get a chance at the popstar life, they began their music journey. In 2021, at the age of 14, they started experimenting with music on their dad’s ableton. Angyl released music inspired by the likes of SOPHIE, Arca, Charli XCX and Ayesha Erotica for years under a multitude of different aliases, but nothing stuck. They knew they had to find something authentic to themselves, music that was so true to their soul that it had never been heard before, thus beginning their journey under one name: Angyl. Now 17 years old, Angyl’s goal remains basically the same, to completely reshape pop as we know it, to create room for more underground genres in the mainstream, to spotlight the underdogs, to award the innovative, and of course, to be a star.
