Initially influenced by composers such as Shostakovich, Bartók and Górecki, Andrew Rosciszewski has been intrigued by the folk music of his Polish heritage and has managed to assimilate it into his own style. He developed his approach free of any particular school of thought or teacher's influence. He composes in a colorful, eclectic style that reflects his passion and diversity of a wide musical palette. He has grown to incorporate his love of progressive rock music in addition to classical music making rhythm a cornerstone of his work, often emphasizing shifting meters and incorporating song and dance idioms. The diversity of this highly individual musical personality can be traced in his work – ranging from the slow lament of the Romance for String Orchestra to the modal melodies of Smierc Polka, and the fast flamboyant movements of the Fantastic Adventure on Marimba. Currently, he is arranging his progressive-metal album "frail'ty" for 5-piece classical chamber ensemble.
