Tuiran Miliisi (The Tuira Militia) are originally from the hard-rocking northern town of Oulu, Finland. They started out in the late 1990`s as a hardcore punk band, later also combining metal, reggae and pop elements to their sound. They soon became known for their energetic live performaces in the Oulu region, often performing with other like-minded highly-educated punk bands, such as Paskahata, Allan Pettymys and the Punk Rock Niggaz, within a scene sometimes critisized of arrogance and esotericism. Their first release was the single "Liian fiksu rokkaamaan" ("Too smart to rock") in 2006, after being signed to UHO production.
