The Still Life is: 1) A 5 piece rock band formed in March of 2006, primarily based in Lindenhurst, NY. In just 6 short months, they have grown from being just another basement band with hopes and dreams to playing shows with well-known touring artists such as All Time Low and Nine Days. Their debut EP, titled The Clock & The Canvas was just recently released independently and has been very well received thus far. From the powerful, uplifting song of self-affirmation that is Long Time Coming to the somber eight and a half minute long epic Fallaway and all the catchy beats and melodies in between, the record is exactly what it needs to be; a roller coaster ride showcasing the band's ability to write all different types of pop music while maintaining originality. 2) A post-punk, gothic rock and ethereal wave band from NYC formed by three members of Norfolk post-punk band " Starving Artists", Ralph M Gerth IV - on guitar, Nick DiCorato - on drums, Dave Lines - on bass, and singer Blaithin Crombie in the 80s. They recorded 11 unreleased songs in 1989 which only started circulating on the internet as of recent years. Their style is very emotionally intense and dream-like, augmented by Blaithin's operatic vocals in many languages (including English, Irish, French, etc.), the production and the usually funereal, but delicate energy in each song. The playing is also strong as each member of course had experience in other bands. Bassist Dave Lines has posted each song on music sharing site SoundCloud in 2016. Read more on Last.fm.
