Los Romeos are a prominent Spanish pop-punk band formed in Castellón, Spain, in 1988, rising to national fame during the early 1990s. The core lineup featured charismatic lead singer Patrizia Escoin, alongside guitarists Juan Carlos "Juanki" Tomás and José Ángel Leiros, and bassist Pedro López Moreno. Known for their fast-paced, Ramones-inspired rhythms blended with catchy, melodic, and often sensual pop sensibilities, they quickly established themselves with their self-titled debut album, "Los Romeos" (1990). This album became a major hit, propelling their most recognized songs, "Muérdeme" (Bite Me) and "Mi vida rosa" (My Pink Life), into Spanish pop-rock classics. Despite their initial success, the band faced issues with their record label, Hispavox, and later albums failed to match the debut's commercial impact, leading to their disbandment in 1996. Following the split, Patrizia Escoin continued her career with the successful indie rock trio Lula. However, in a significant announcement in late 2025, Los Romeos confirmed their official return. The reunion, spearheaded by Patrizia Escoin, is scheduled to begin its major activity in 2026 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of their debut album. The group has signed with the influential independent label Subterfuge Records for this new chapter, reintroducing their energetic sound to Spanish stages once again. Read more on Last.fm.
