’officially shit’ was a short-lived movement during the time when users could tag anything and it'd show up on the profile of an artist by the number of times it was tagged. The movement's goal was to make 'officially shit' as large as possible, and potentially make it the most dominate tag on an artist. The broken algorithm was clearly taken advantage of, which resulted in Last.fm's administrators changing the way the tagging system works. Taggers had listen to tag radios if they wanted their tag to carry more weight, which led to the tag's immediate downfall. In the present, the tag can rarely be seen on a handful of artists.
