Gene is an 89 year old friend of mine. He started raving about Carol Welsman at our dinner the other night. Gene is blind in one eye and has wet macular generation in the other. He wears big earphones to hear our voices through microphones placed on the dinner table. He says he is getting new ideas from Carol to put into his piano improvisations. Gene is a wonder: he's pulling together a piano file on his Mach computer to burn a CD for a young friend who is trying to play piano jazz. Gene has an electric piano with a 20" flat panel/ Mach sitting on top of it. This allows him to blow up printed music to read with his special lens glasses.
